The larger the current, the brighter the LED, and the smaller the current, the darker the LED; The fundamental difference is that the Triac dimming mode uses the chopper function of thyristor to adjust the input voltage of dimming driving power supply, so as to change the output current of dimming power supply. 0-10V provides 0-10V variable voltage to 0-10V dimming power supply through 0-10V dimmer, so as to change the output current, To achieve the purpose of brightness change, Triac dimming has been applied to incandescent lamps and energy-saving lamps in the early stage. It is also the most widely used dimming method for LED dimming in the market. Its working principle is to generate a tangential output voltage waveform by passing the input voltage waveform through the conduction angle tangent wave. Applying the tangential principle, the effective value of the output voltage of the thyristor dimmer can be reduced, so as to reduce the power of the ordinary load (resistive load). Triac dimmer has the advantages of high adjustment accuracy, high efficiency, small volume, light weight and easy remote control. It is dominant in the market. Most manufacturers' products are this type of dimmer. The advantages of using thyristor dimmer on LED lamps are: low dimming cost, compatible with existing lines, no need to rewire, and suitable for old reconstruction projects. The disadvantage is that the dimming performance of thyristor is poor, which usually leads to the reduction of dimming range; There is a matching problem between dimming power supply and dimmable controller, and the flashing problem often occurs; In the application of dimming module, there are generally minimum load requirements. If the load power is too low, there will be flashing, and there will be mutual interference in multi lamp dimming. Because of the properties of thyristor half control switch, it only has the function of turning on the current, but can not completely turn off the current. Even if it is adjusted to the lowest, there is still a weak current through, and the characteristics of LED micro current luminescence make there are a large number of Triac dimming, and the LED still has the phenomenon of weak luminescence after turning off, which has become a difficult problem in the promotion of this wiring free LED dimming method.
